This time of year can be so hard to dress for since the weather doesn’t seem to know what it wants. It’s 85 one day, 50 the next and sometimes both in one day. I’ve been finding myself reaching for a cute top that I can easily layer so I can keep up with Mother Nature. 🙂
So I figured I’d share some tips on how to choose those staple, everyday tees that will easily transition into summer and even fall.
1 Make sure it’s comfortable. I’ve had times where I grab something I love in the store, then get home and realize that it’s itchy, the fabric bothers me, etc. Other than online shopping, I don’t buy anything without trying it on. You want all of your staples to be as comfortable as possible, so make sure you love it!
2 Choose colors you love that will match with most of your other favorites. You probably don’t want to grab a neon tee when you’re shopping for staples. Neutrals and pastels would be the way to go for me, but you have to match your own style, of course! I LOVE the color of this tee from Pink Blush. It also comes in blush, black and white, making it a perfect staple!
3 Make sure it’s pretty good quality. If you’re going to be wearing it a lot, you want to make sure it’s not going to fall apart after you wear it a few times. I’m all about a deal, but double check that it’s well made so it can last you awhile!
4 Make sure it’s easily washable. I can’t tell you how many times I have brought something home, worn it and then realized it was dry clean only. The worst! Maybe it’s just me, but I never go to the dry cleaner. I don’t love hand washing either, but at least it’s more feasible than getting things dry cleaned all the time ha! Especially if it’s something you think you’ll wear a lot, you want to know that you can wash it and wear it again soon.
Thank you to Pink Blush for gifting me this top! It definitely meets the requirements for a staple tee and, like I said, comes in 3 other great colors!
Thanks so much for reading!
